On this special episode of Designing Spaces: Spaces of Hope, we’re back at the Oscar Mike Foundation compound, a home base for disabled veterans, with a handful of generous companies ready to give back. The Oscar Mike Foundation has one primary mission: keep injured veterans on the move. The organization provides an outlet to thousands of veterans through life-changing adaptive sports programs, experiences, and other events. Many of them hang out or live in the Oscar Mike Foundation’s 9,000-square-foot home in Popular Grove, Ill., which includes 17 beds, an adaptive weight-training room, an outdoor sports court and much more. It serves as a rehabilitation center for veterans and a home base for the foundation. On this episode, Designing Spaces continues the remodel it started last year, finishing the job once and for all. First up: The Prairie View Industries (PVI) team is on-site, installing aluminum access ramps throughout the Oscar Mike Foundation compound. Ensuring safety and protection at the Oscar Mike Foundation compound is high on our list! That's why we're meeting with the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA). Then, the team at American Residential Services (ARS) stops by, ready to lend their expertise in all things heating and cooling. Plus, we're learning about the ARS Cares Program, which strives to reach out to those suffering without heat or A/C and provide them with a free HVAC system.
